SSL Certificate Industry Change – Shorter Certificate Validity

SSL Validity

As of 2026, SSL certificates are now issued with a shorter validity period of around 6 months due to an industry-wide security change introduced by major browsers and certificate authorities.

 

This does not mean you need to purchase a new SSL certificate every 6 months. Your SSL subscription remains active for the full term purchased, however certificates must now be reissued periodically to maintain security compliance.

TrustSign customers will receive free renewal/reissue reminders by email before expiry, and reissuing your SSL certificate during the subscription period is completely free of charge.
